Private, family and management

We started with three lorries and a bonded store beside a Jurong canal, and named the company after the bird that fished it: alcedo, Latin for the kingfisher, the bird of calm seas.

The group is still privately held and reinvests most of what it earns. That lets us own the warehouses, trucks and equipment we run, train our own engineers, and price work for the length of a contract rather than a financial year. Our ten largest clients have been with us for an average of eleven years.

Questions we are asked

What does Alcedo Group Holdings do?

Alcedo is a Singapore group of four businesses: contract logistics, freight forwarding, engineering services and cold chain. Together they store, move and maintain goods and facilities for manufacturers, retailers and healthcare companies in nine Asia-Pacific markets, with 6,200 people. The group was founded in Jurong in 1987.

Which markets does Alcedo operate in?

Nine: Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Australia. Singapore is the headquarters and largest base, with the Tuas distribution centre, the Tuas cold-chain hub and the Loyang engineering service centre. Freight runs in all nine; the other businesses run where the map shows them.

How can my company become an Alcedo supplier?

Use the contact form and choose Supplier registration; it takes about ten minutes. Group procurement reviews new suppliers every quarter against safety, quality and sustainability criteria. Approved suppliers join one shared vendor list, so a single registration covers all four businesses in every market.

Do you work with smaller companies?

Yes. About a third of our logistics clients ship fewer than 200 pallets a month. Shared-user warehouses, scheduled cross-border trucks and term maintenance contracts let growing companies use the same systems and safety standards as our largest clients, priced for their volume.

How do I apply for a job or the graduate programme?

Open a listed role and apply, or send your CV through the contact form and choose Careers. The graduate programme takes 24 graduates a year for an 18-month rotation across two businesses, in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. Applications for the 2027 intake close on 31 January 2027.

Where can I find Alcedo's sustainability data?

The key 2030 targets and our progress are on this page. The full 2025 Sustainability Report is available on request through the contact form. It covers Scope 1, 2 and material Scope 3 emissions, safety, workforce and governance, and it is published every year in April.
